Typing practice
Free-form practice once you know the keys. Every run adds to your XP, streak and key-by-key history on the progress page.
Getting the most from practice
Practice works best when it is a little uncomfortable but still accurate. If you are consistently above 97% accuracy, push the pace; if you fall below 92%, slow down until the errors stop. Paragraph practice builds the stamina you need for real writing, while common-word practice turns the most frequent words into single, automatic movements.
Still missing letters on the top or bottom row? Go back to the matching unit in the lessons. Ready to measure yourself? Take the 1-minute typing test.
Practice FAQ
Which practice mode should I use?
Use Common words to build speed on the words you type most, Sentences and Paragraphs for stamina and punctuation, Code for brackets and symbols, and Weak keys to drill the letters your history shows you miss most often.
How does the custom practice text work?
You choose a topic and level, and an AI model (via Vercel AI Gateway) writes a fresh paragraph about it, favouring your weak keys if you tick that option. Nothing else about you is sent. If it fails, all the other modes still work offline in your browser.
How long should a practice session be?
Ten to fifteen focused minutes a day is enough for steady progress. Take a break when accuracy drops below about 92%.
